Privacy

This page explains what data rickysays.com collects, why, and what we do with it. Edit me freely in /admin/pages.php.

What we collect

  • Email addresses — only when you subscribe to the newsletter or post a comment. We use them to send you new-post notifications or to follow up on a comment. Your email is never shown publicly.
  • Comments — we store your name and the comment text. Approved comments appear under the post.
  • Page-view counts — we record an anonymous hash of your IP and user-agent so the admin can see how many readers a post is getting. The raw IP is never stored.

Cookies

This site sets one functional cookie: a session ID, used only while you're signed in to the admin (which is just the site author). Readers don't trigger this cookie unless they sign in. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies are set.

Third parties

We do not sell or share your data with third parties. Email notifications are sent through Resend (an SMTP provider) and contain only your email address and the message content. The site is hosted on a VPS we control.

Removing your data

To unsubscribe from the newsletter, click the unsubscribe link in any email. To remove a comment or have your data deleted, email rick@rickysays.com.
