Why You Can't Watch Netflix on a Samsung Galaxy Tab

Samsung Galaxy Tabs run on an Android 2.2 operating system, and Netflix doesn't currently have an app for viewing Netflix movies on android devices.

You can manage your Netflix queue and search for the latest movies using the Galaxy's built in web browser, but you won't be able to watch movies through the browser because that requires MS Silverlight (which can't be installed on an Android).

According to Netflix, they are working on an Android app that will let viewers watch movies like they can on iPhones and iPads, but that was posted way back in November 2010 so I'm not holding my breath 5 months later: http://blog.netflix.com/2010/11/netflix-on-android.html.

So this article should really be titled "Why You Can't Watch Netflix Movies on Your Samsung Tablet" instead of "how to" because this is not a "how to."

Title update - thanks for commenting :)

Actually, Netflix does have an app on Android, but it being rolled out to each device model as they test it. I have it on my Nexus One, but not my Galaxy Tab (yet.)

Does the Netflix app for your android let you actually play movies on your device, or just manage your queue?

This post is out-of-date. Netflix is available for android, but not for the Galaxy Tab.

if netflex cannot let me watch movies yet...can i at least find a way to watch tv on my tablet..that is important to me...what do you think ricky..i did speak to netflix wed night..they did say theyare working on the movies for galaxy tab

i was just searching online for a movie player for my 2.2 Galaxy Tab, and found this article...bummer.
...then I went to the Market App, looked at Staff Picks for Apps, and found a Netflix app! Just installed and am super psyched!

Maybe they JUST fixed it?
